VANCOUVER, Wash. — U.S. highschoolers could get more opportunities to learn computer coding.
Senator Maria Cantwell and Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy introduced legislation to boost high school coding programs.
The High School CODES Act will help high schools throughout the country establish coding education programs, allowing students to take coding classes in place of math, science, or foreign language requirements.
Coding is a fast-growing industry with a large job market.
