Advisory -- 8:00 AM in Spokane: Cantwell Opens National Smart Grid Conference, Discusses Moving the U.S. Toward a Cleaner, Affordable Energy Future
Spokane, WA – Senator Cantwell will deliver opening remarks at the first National Smart Grid Conference in Spokane on Monday. The Conference will bring together the nation’s top thinkers on energy efficiency and Smart Grid technology to discuss how best to facilitate the widespread development and adoption of the technology to move the United States towards a cleaner, more diverse, affordable energy future.
On day one, Cantwell will discuss how making this nation’s power grid smarter will reduce the cost of using and delivering electricity integrate more diverse sources of energy, give consumers and businesses more control over their energy use, and create millions of family-waged green jobs.
On the following day, she will receive recommendations from a panel of experts on how to implement policies that will transform the country’s electricity grid.
