Cantwell Applauds USDA Loan Guarantees to Three Washington State Businesses

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) announced that three businesses in Washington state would receive U.S. Department of Agriculture loan guarantees to help them grow and create jobs. The borrowers receiving loan awards are Washington Alder, LLC ($8,400,000); GR Silicate Nano-Fibers and Carbonates, LLC ($3,034,000); and Lamiglas, Inc. and Posey Properties, LLC ($2,200,000).

“During these tough times, we need to be doing all we can to bridge the gap to recovery and help stimulate Washington state’s economy,” Senator Cantwell said. “Today’s announcement of U.S. Department of Agriculture loan guarantees to three Washington businesses will provide access to capital these businesses need to help save and create jobs in rural communities.”

The loan guarantees announced today support 128 projects and total $413 million in 35 states, the territory of American Samoa, and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. The funds are targeted to create and retain quality jobs and serve difficult-to-reach populations and areas hardest hit by the economic downturn. The funding is made available through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
