Cantwell Statement in Remembrance of Karen McGinnis, Founding Leader of the Volpentest HAMMER Federal Training Center

EDMONDS, WA – Today, U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA), released this statement in remembrance of Karen McGinnis, founding leader of the Volpentest HAMMER Federal Training Center near Richland.  A celebration of life was held for McGinnis today in Richland.

“Through years of service and leadership to HAMMER, Karen McGinnis was steadfast in her goal of making the Hanford site safer. She advocated for the highest possible training standards, so all workers could return home to their families safely at the end of their shifts. I offer my condolences to Karen’s family. She was a remarkable leader, and she’ll be greatly missed.”
