Cantwell Statement on Death of U.S. Capitol Police Officer

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) released the following statement on reports that a U.S. Capitol Police Officer was killed in an attack at the Capitol this afternoon:

“I am deeply saddened to hear of the loss of an officer and the injury of another at the U.S. Capitol today. Law enforcement and recently the National Guard have done everything to courageously protect and defend our seat of American democracy. My thoughts and prayers are with the United States Capitol Police and the officers’ families during this time.”
