Cantwell Statement on Derek Chauvin Verdict

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) released the following statement after the verdict was announced in the trial of former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin:

“George Floyd and his family deserve justice. Today, a jury deliberated, and we took one step closer towards justice. Congress should now pass the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act and ensure equal treatment under law.”
