Cantwell Statement on Flooding in Washington State
SEATTLE, WA – Tuesday, U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) issued the following statement on the flooding in Washington state:
"The flooding in Washington state is a significant challenge to communities throughout 18 counties now under a state of emergency. I want to thank emergency first responders and the Washington State National Guard for their ongoing assistance in those communities that have been severely impacted by the flooding.
"Current forecasts are predicting additional rainfall and I urge citizens to heed the advice of local authorities and take all necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
"I have been in contact with the Washington State Emergency Management Division and continue to closely monitor the developing situation.”
