Cantwell Statement on House Passage of the Women's Health Protection Act
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) released the following statement following the House passage of the Women’s Health Protection Act.
“The right to abortion is protected by law in the State of Washington, but we need a federal law to protect women everywhere. Today, the House took a big step in Congress asserting its role in safeguarding this right by passing the Women’s Health Protection Act. We must pass this critical legislation to protect the rights of women. I look forward to voting for this important legislation.”
Senator Cantwell is a cosponsor of the Women’s Health Protection Act that was introduced in June.
