Cantwell Statement on North Korea
WASHINGTON, DC – Monday, U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) issued the following statement on North Korea:
“I strongly condemn North Korea’s nuclear test. North Korea’s nuclear and missile programs are serious threats to stability in Asia. The proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and related technology and know-how is a threat to international peace. The U.S. will need to work closely with China, Russia, Japan, and South Korea to deal with North Korea. We should be attempting direct engagement with North Korea.”
