Cantwell Statement on Passing of Bill Gates Sr.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) released the following statement about the passing of Bill Gates Sr.:

“I am sorry to hear about the passing of Bill Gates Sr. He was a Northwest boy through and through who had a big impact on our region, from founding a prestigious Northwest law firm to leading the Gates Foundation to being a leading voice on important public policy issues.

“He was a gentle giant with a kind smile who knew how to listen to everyone. When he spoke, a whole lot of wisdom always came out. My heart goes out to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.”
