Cantwell Statement on President Obama’s Supreme Court Nominee

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA), released the following statement after President Obama announced Judge Merrick Garland as his nominee to replace Justice Antonin Scalia as an Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court.

“Judge Garland is a highly qualified nominee. Now it’s time for the Senate to do its job.   Advice and consent isn’t an option, it’s an obligation.”
