Cantwell Statement on Procedural Vote on Ex-Im Bank Amendment

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) issued the following statement on the Senate opposition to table the Kirk-Ayotte Amendment (S.A. 1735) that would reauthorize the Export-Import Bank, scheduled to expire on June 30, 2015.

 “Today’s procedural vote shows that an overwhelming majority of Senators support the Export-Import Bank,” said Cantwell. “Hard working small businesses across the nation are fighting to compete in overseas markets, and they are depending on us to have a real vote that will actually reauthorize the bank before it expires.”
