Cantwell Statement on Small Business Saturday

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA), member of the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee, released the following statement to mark Small Business Saturday on November 30.

This is the fourth year of the national initiative encouraging consumers to support local businesses that create jobs, boost the economy and preserve neighborhoods across the country.    

“Small businesses are the foundation of America’s economy,” said Cantwell. “Across the country small businesses on Main Streets are the key drivers of job creation. I encourage all Washingtonians to spend some time today visiting the small, independent businesses that are critical to the growth of our state and the nation. Visiting small businesses today helps invest in jobs and the success of our communities tomorrow.”
