Cantwell Statement on the Passing of Former Congresswoman Jolene Unsoeld

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) released the following statement on the passing of former Congresswoman Jolene Unsoeld who represented Washington’s 3^rd congressional district from 1989 to 1995.

“I am saddened to hear of Congresswoman Jolene Unsoeld’s passing. She was a strong advocate for government transparency and environmental protection. Her legislative work bolstered Washington state’s maritime economy, from fishing vessels to the cruise industry. Her dedication to service, adventurous spirit and keen sense of humor will be missed. My thoughts are with her family and friends.”
