Cantwell to kick off "Workforce Week" tour with Governor Locke
Senator to announce new report, legislation, and Federal funding priorities
Olympia WA - U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) today announced her statewide "Workforce Week" tour in which she will hold a series of meetings on workforce training issues, March 25 - Friday, March 29.
Cantwell will visit Olympia, Kelso, Vancouver, Richland, Everett, Mt. Vernon, and Bellingham. Governor Gary Locke and others will join Cantwell in Olympia a press conference on Monday, March 25 to kick off Workforce Week.
On Monday, Cantwell will:
Release the results of a statewide report illustrating the growing workforce training 'gap'; Announce legislation to improve the effectiveness of workforce training; and Announce Senate Democratic budget priorities to increase funding for training programs.
