Senator Maria Cantwell visits Yakima today, promoting the renewal of the Federal Export Import Bank.

The Export Import Bank finances the exports of goods made in America, at no cost to the tax payers.

In just ten years Manhasset Specialty Company in Yakima has expanded its reach from just 10 to over 45 countries with the help of the Ex-Im Bank.

Senator Cantwell wants to renew the Ex-Im bank for four years.

If Congress does not act by May 31st, the bank will be forced to stop financing new export deals.

Since 2007 the Ex-Im Bank has supported $15 million of Yakima County Export sales.
