Cantwell Releases Statement as Comey Hearing Looms

WASHINGTON, D.C.  – Today, U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) issued the following statement ahead of the Senate Intelligence Committee hearing with former FBI Director James Comey. News reports today have confirmed that Comey will claim in his testimony that President Trump pressured him to end the investigation into the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia.

“I am disturbed that President Trump allegedly pressured Director Comey. The American people deserve answers. Tomorrow’s hearing is a step in the right direction for getting those answers, and I encourage the relevant Senate and House committees to continue uncovering the truth.”
