Senate Approves Adams County Sheriff Mike Kline as U.S. Marshal for Eastern Washington

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) today announced that Adams County Sheriff Mike Kline has been approved by the U.S. Senate to be the United States Marshal for the Eastern District of Washington. The Senate unanimously approved Sheriff Kline's nomination on Monday.

"Eastern Washington will be well-served with Mike Kline as its U.S. Marshal," Cantwell said. "He has done a tremendous job as sheriff in Adams County, and I am sure that his dedication, professionalism, and strong leadership will continue to benefit the citizens of Washington state. I look forward to working with him, and I congratulate him on successfully completing this final step in the confirmation process."

Sheriff Kline is President of the Washington State Sheriffs Association. He received his associate's degree in Law Enforcement Technology from Spokane Community College in 1972. He served for six years ending 1978 in the Washington Air National Guard as a Communications Specialist. He has received advanced training from the National Sheriffs' Institute and the Northwest Law Enforcement Command College. In June 1999, he graduated from the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.

Sheriff Kline was born in Spokane, WA and currently lives in Ritzville, WA with his wife and child.
