Senator Maria Cantwell Statement on the U.S. Supreme Court’s Ruling to Uphold Party Spending Limits

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-Wash) today said that she is very pleased with the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling that upheld party spending limits.

"This ruling makes clear that there is a consensus on the Court that the Constitution permits limits on spending by political parties. The ruling makes me more confident than ever that the McCain-Feingold ban on soft money will be upheld," Cantwell said.
